The Alpine hut “Auronzo” is at 2,333 m and you can reach it on foot or driving up the quite large scenic route in a majestic landscape overlooked by the three  needles which are a practice wall uniting the earth with the sky. It has 25 comfortable  rooms with a minimum of two beds to a maximum of six sleeping berths with a total of 104 sleeping places in an incredible scenery with the courtesy of a place run directly by the local section of the CAI Auronzo where you can enjoy the delicious food of its restaurant.

The hut has a large dining room with 130 seats from whose windows the visitor can admire in the foregroud the pinnacles of the Cadini di Misurina Chain and it is placed in a strategic position for the access to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo; besides it is the starting point and the arrival of quiet walks past the Lavaredo Hut, Lavaredo Col and the Capanna  dei Pastori.

The Shepherds’Shelter (with the enchanting  view of the north face of the Tre Cime) and of  many other hikes and climbing routes of all kinds.

Auronzo Hut is the stopping place of the Alta Via no. 4 of Grohmann which goes from San Candido in Pusteria (or Tre Scarperi Hut) to Pieve di Cadore and it belongs to the 24 mountain huts of the Belluno Province which have signed the “Carta di Assicurazione della Qualità" (The Document of Quality Assurance) representing their commitment to assure their guests that they serve typical dishes of the Cadorina and Bellunese cuisine prepared following seasonal production  and  local traditions and using the produce of local farms and dairies.

The hut offers half board or just overnight stay and it is reached every year by an increasing number of tourists, not only climbers but above all hikers, who wish to enjoy the landscape and the atmosphere of the place including a typical meal in harmony with the mountains and its traditions.

With the recent acknowledgment of the Dolomites as World Heritage Site UNESCO the  Alpine hut “Auronzo” is organizing itself to welcome more and more specialized tourism interested in the geologic and natural aspects of landscape of the area.
